The Battle to Lose Weight and Keep it Off

in Healthy Living, Weight Loss | by | with 1 Comment

Ok, you’ve been good in your quest to lose weight. Well sort of. Or, maybe not.

Perhaps you’ve reached the point where you’re telling yourself: “Nothing is working, I can’t keep it off,  so I’ll go ahead and eat.”

If this has happened, I feel you. I know where you’re coming from.

Here’s the good news: You can change your body condition!

How do I know this?

I have made it my career, for the past 30 years, to help people like you, change conditions for the better.

How are you going to do it? By understanding how to lose weight.

In this country, we are bombarded with false data. This is mis-information that we take in consciously or unconsciously that is completely unworkable, but which we apply anyways. Just the fact that there are thousands of “experts” on the subject of weight loss should tell you that it’s not a very codified subject. Why we continue to see new experts every day is due to the unworkability of other experts and past trends.

How about we explore some workable data for weight loss instead?

Your Body’s Viewpoint of You

The body is a machine that burns fuel, not unlike your automobile. When you do not have enough gasoline in your car, it ceases to function. You can also fill up the tank with inferior fuel or not-really-fuel-at-all (but still fills the tank) and your car either runs horribly or doesn’t run at all.

Just as most automobiles are “fuel-injected”, meaning that gasoline is constantly being fed to the engine, our bodies need a consistent energy source.

The fact is, the more you feed the body with small meals, the happier the body is. Your metabolism goes up and you have more energy. Weight comes off.

This is completely counter-intuitive to the “don’t eat to lose weight” concepts.

In fact, because most diets put the body in starvation, you get the yo-yo effect. This comes about by the body knowing that you are not holding up your end of the bargain, i.e. feeding it, and as a result the body “takes matters into its own hands” and starts to store “backup” energy: fat. And lots of it!

(It’s not just “diets” which bring on this condition. I have been saying for years that, here in this country, we are overfed and undernourished. I know of very overweight people who, because of the lack of nutrition in what they are eating, are almost clinically in a state of malnutrition. Think of it this way: let’s say your car would run after filling the tank with 1/2 gasoline and 1/2 water. It would need a lot more volume of this “fuel” to get the car motoring than if the tank had high-quality premium gas. So watch what you are eating to make sure it is really food and not some food-stuff or non-food item).

Because the body has this instinct that it needs to be fed and nourished, and this is in the category of “survival”, from the body’s point of view, anything you try involving starvation generally will not work.

The body looks at you and concludes that you messed up too many times: You’ve put the body in a state of having an empty tank and NO energy, (which is not ok, not survival). So the body will do things its own way–from here on forward! This includes the mandatory fat storage. The extra weight you will NOT be able to shed…

So the body sees you as a traitor of sorts.

Lose weight with these helpful Solutions

Fortunately, one of the primary factors I have discovered about the body is

THE BODY RESPONDS TO A LITTLE GOODNESS AND KINDNESS

A little attention in the right direction goes a long way.

  • Begin eating small meals and snacks throughout the day.
  • I recommend protein “bites”, such as chicken, egg salad, tuna, etc. every few hours, especially between meals. A good protein bar, shake, or fruit will do. Do you remember the stat that it would take eating 10 apples to get the sugar in only one candy bar? Well, you don’t have to eat ten, but try eating one or two instead!
  • Be sure to drink enough water too.
  • Then walk or exercise daily if you can.

Simple? Yes! Effective? As we say in Minnesota, you betch-ya!
