If I were to survey random people at a mall and ask them "What is Stress?", I'd get several different answers:
Relationships
Lack of Time
Money
Children
Age
Health/Sickness
Traffic
Weather (too hot or cold)
Work
These are all "correct" answers but they miss the point.
Looking in the dictionary (not the "psych" text books as these people all tend to be nuts), there is a very interesting definition. It says, Stress = Pressure. Hmmm. That's true. Whatever the stress is or wherever it is coming from, it results in Pressure.
Some people feel this pressure physically, such as in their neck, shoulders or back. Others get headaches or digestive upset. Many feel it in their nerves, where they become anxious or even wiped out.
Let's Look Inside the Body and How Stress Affects a Person
We are definitely in the midst of a trend to "Medicate Stress Away". Anti-depressant drugs and other similar "psych" drugs have infiltrated into every demographic group, from babies to seniors.
While I am not entirely "anti-drug", "anti-medicine" (there are some helpful ones), I am against drugging stress, anxiety and depression. Why? Because they are completely missing the real reason a person feels wacked out.
I mentioned Stress = Pressure. This is true from a physiological point of view (how your body functions).
Imagine you're on the Starship Enterprise. You've run into some more of those bad aliens. Your force shields are keeping their neutron weapon fire off of your ship. But the shields are wearing down. You need more power but you don't have it. The offensive energy (stress) is starting to enter your ship!
Back to the body: Yes, stress is out there. We have our "force shields" up trying to protect ourselves. This of course works if you've had enough sleep and good nutrition. But when you're tired, hungry or even starving, our abilities to handle stress diminishes.
Now the stress is getting to you. Specifically, your nervous system is becoming over-loaded in trying to help you cope. And your nerves control everything in your body.
Your Nervous System Needs Help!
When you're under stress, your nerves work even harder. There are specific nutrients needed by your nerves. When these nutrients are missing, which are VITAL, in other words, your body needs them to survive, you begin to suffer. You begin to feel stressed out.
A lack of vitamin B1 for example, will result in being anxious and confused. It can interrupt sleep, zap your energy so your feel wiped out and even affect your cardiovascular system.
B1 is an essential vitamin. But is gets used up when we're under stress. When it's gone, you feel it via the stress your experience. In addition, B1 is not necessarily stored in the body. And it's water soluble, meaning it's either there in your body or not. To add insult to your stress, you don't easily find it in your diet. Worse, the RDA for vitamin B1 is 1.5 mg/day.
Balance is Key
So am I saying, go to your health food store and get more vitamin B1? No. B1 is part of the family of B vitamins in nature. Taking straight B1 can upset the balance of other nutrients in your body.
I have formulated a stress vitamin that balances vitamin B1 with over a dozen other "support" vitamins. It is called "Dr. Pinkus' Vital B 100". Vital B 100 is truly what I consider to be the best Stress Vitamin in the marketplace.
Many people report they feel the difference shortly after taking Vital B. I know I do. In a world of prescription drugs, doctors, Internet "advise", something simple or an easy solution often becomes overlooked or poo-pooed.
My Vital B 100 does work for stress and I believe that anyone who is experiencing stress should be taking it. You can take it several times per day, as needed without worry. As it is not a drug, I don't have an ugly list of side-effects to offer you!
