Sleep: A Look At
Bodies need sleep. Sleep, in my opinion, reboots the body so you can have the energy, attention and
endurance to do your thing the next day.
According to polls and surveys, Americans are not getting enough sleep. We're either multi-tasking and
not taking the time to sleep, working too much, too many things to do, etc.
Many people have a difficult time falling asleep or sleeping throughout the night without waking up.
Some toss and turn. Others have "restless" sleep, where there is too much "activity". Many people hurt
physically and lying in bed aggravates a condition.
If you have your attention on the subject of sleep, chances are the following may be able to help you.
Sleep: How Your Nervous System Regulates
Your body has what I call a "Daytime" nervous system and an "Evening" nervous system.
The Daytime nervous system is meant to give you energy to do the things needed throughout the day.
Included here would be your attention and ability to think clearly and solve problems. Feeling the energy
or drive to move your body around. Feeling hunger and eating to satisfy it. Being active.
The Evening nervous system should start to click in after dinner. Feeling more relaxed, watch a movie
or read a book. Sleepiness comes about and if one follows the course, they would go to bed, fall asleep
and sleep a good 7 hours plus.
There is a definite difference between the Day and Evening nervous systems. One could safely call it a
"Day and Night" difference.
Sleep: Real World
Of course, the above description is talking about the ideal. Many people have far departures from this
and are upside down with regards to sleep and energy.
The real world version of our sleep cycles goes something like this:
Being wiped out during the day, dragging, tired, attention not in present time. Too much to do, too little
time to get it done. Can't wait to get to sleep tonight.
Bedtime: Get to bed later than desired. Can't get to sleep or unexpected waking up and then can't get
back to sleep. Now wake up tired. Body and nerves did not reboot. Don't feel well.
Coffee! More coffee! Quick energy foods! Sodas. Not hungry for lunch. Skip meal(s).
Not quite feeling "right". Doctor prescribes antidepressant.
Can't get to sleep on my own. Need sleeping prescription.
I need a vacation!
Sleep: Breaking the Circuit
If you're more of a "real world" example, you must realize that something needs to change or your body
will "give you" changes you will not desire.
Included here are hormonal changes, neurological problems including pain, funny nerve sensations,
metabolism changes including weight gain and blood sugar problems, mental unclarity, mood changes
and more.
How?
First, you need to realize that there is a separate and definitive Day and Evening branch to your nervous
system.
During the day, you need to fuel up the body by feeding it proper foods and plenty of water. Cutting down
on caffeine and sugar will help you. It may take a few to several days to feel it, but your body will begin to
create its own energy!
My Vital B 100 Formula will help you with stress and to feel more yourself again. Vitamin B1 (in good
quantities in my formula) and vitamin C help your body make energy. Two capsules in the morning will
help provide the vital nutrients your body needs to run the nervous system.
Then in the evening, I would first recommend that you create a "quiet time" for yourself and family.
Anything that will rile you up gets turned off within two hours of going to sleep. This includes not watching
the 10pm or 11pm evening news! Most "news" (bad news) will actually aggravate or excite your nerves.
So skip it!
Drinking a warm cup of my CalMax Formula just before bed tends to soothe the muscles and nerves.
Calcium and magnesium, once in the body will provide that extra relaxation desired by you and your
body to simply "shut down" for the night.
(My experience with CalMax is that it does absorb into your system very quickly. Be ready to go to sleep
after you drink a cup!)
Taking two Vital B 100 capsules before bed will also provide your body with the nutrients it needs to
keep your nerves relaxed.
